 What a blessing to be able to compete in the Art Battle San Francisco City Championship!!! 12 winners from previous battles in the 2023-24 season were invited to compete for a chance to go on to Nationals and represent the Bay Area!!! I was lucky enough to finish my painting and sell it at auction but I didn’t win, HOWEVER a very talented artist named Emilie Boras did win and I wish her the best, now BRING HOME THE NATIONALS and BEYOND!! Lol I brought Savvy out to celebrate, the main goal was to set up the future of Savvy and in my Art Battle journey!  Inspired by the animals we look to for spiritual guidance and physical motivation, “SPIRIT ANIMALS” was a show hosted by SIY GALLERY featuring some of my work and several of my fellow AZ artists.  The BETTA FISH or “SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH” is an animal that I have admired for most of my life for its endurance, dexterity, beauty and ability to fight, as well as its perseverance in harsh conditions and in limited spaces. The Betta makes no excuses and takes no prisoners. 

THE ART OF HIP HOP: This was a great community event hosted by STUDIO 11 in Union City. Inspirational and informative, The Art of Hip Hop brought Art and Music lovers of all walks together to celebrate the culture and showcase the skills of over 30 local artists and vendors. Here’s some of the memories….

Here you’ll find the “cheat sheet” to uncovering some of the hidden secrets of this painting.  The first 2 panels were done to show the effects we have on the coastal reefs that we are able to access, often times we damage it unknowingly from simply trying to understand it or enjoy it. From left to right showing how the reef will heal itself away from disruption and we’ll, humans.  The middle panel was added only recently to give the painting more of a wow factor and add some more fun stuff to the original.  Stay tuned for more as we unveil the piece at  One Love Cafe, one of our newest businesses on “The Ave” in San Bruno. 

 “Repurpose for a purpose” was a slogan that was presented to me by a local business owner and good friend of mine to inspire an art installation at Catch22, a local Hair Salon x Boutique with the intention to upcycle and reduce waste. Here are some of the pieces I worked on for the repurposed show. 

 Art Battle San Francisco 9/27/23 I went into this battle with light and love in my heart for Tommy Perkasso who passed away just before the competition, too soon. I never could’ve imagined that I would leave victorious, but in the end I won my first ever Art Battle.
